About The Founder

Shalin Reethas

Shalin Reethas, the driving force behind the Mother Teresa Foundation Trust and CEEF, embodies the spirit of ‘giving.’ From humble beginnings to overcoming hardships in pursuit of a decent living for all, Shalin’s life story is not just admirable but awe-inspiring.

Shalin, the eldest of five siblings under a thatched roof, grew up with his fisherman father, the family’s sole breadwinner. Determined to support his family, Shalin pursued an undergraduate degree in Trichy, where he discovered his passion for helping deserving youth continue their studies.

Balancing part-time jobs as a waiter and lucrative breaks in places like Goa, Shalin directed his earnings to provide textbooks and uniforms for underprivileged students. After moving to Bangalore, he continued to support the kids in Trichy, working weekends delivering newspapers and cleaning taxis to supplement his income.

Relocating to Kerala for a better job, Shalin knew he needed to advance academically to achieve more. With his sights set on the London School of Economics (LSE), he faced four rejections but persisted, securing admission on his fifth attempt, becoming the first in his family to study at LSE.

Now splitting his time between India and Germany, Shalin remains dedicated to impacting lives through the Mother Teresa Foundation Trust and CEEF, fostering education and positive change for the next generation.
